Welcome!

Welcome to the (not entirely) new and (marginally) improved Your Hot Cup of Rant!
For the two of you who know what that means, thanks. For the rest of you, some mild explanation is in order. I’ll do my best.
“What this is:”
Your Hot Cup of Rant is, for lack of a better definition, an opinion-based sounding board where I, “Rantmaster Mark”, will expound upon that which agitates or annoys me. The topics of said rants are not generally “restricted”, so one day you could be reading about video games, while the next you could be reading about politics or religion or web comics or coffee prices or whatever else happens to attract my attention. It is a place where other, approved contributors will do likewise. Short of the expectation that entries will be properly spell-and-grammar checked, there is no expectation of contributors that they be thought-provoking or entertaining (as the two of you who used to read the old site are aware).
“What this is not:”
This is not for you.
This is not meant to be an intellectual sounding board. Occasionally, potentially intelligent observations and opinions might show up, but they will most likely be obfuscated under a layer of profanity and personal bias. Sorry.
This is not really meant to entertain anyone but me. If you happen to enjoy it, that’s wonderful and I’m pleased I managed to bring a tiny bit of light into your life, but do not expect me to cater to your whims as a provider of content, and do not expect me to update every day, every week, or what have you. This is for me. Sorry.
“I remember the old YHCOR website, and it wasn’t a blog.”
No, it wasn’t. I know blogs tend to be reviled by the website mainstream, but they offer several key advantages over HTML-based endeavors, the primary one being that I can simply create accounts for additional contributors and let them post their own shit. Not having to format another person’s work makes my life about a billion times easier, and as we’ve noted above, this is for me. Suck it up.
“What happened to everyone else?”
I ate them.
…
Okay, maybe not.
Most of them, I imagine, went off to go do whatever on the internet or just stopped doing anything at all. Such is the nature of personal entertainment.
“So what’s changed?”
Simple: the updated YHCOR is devoted exclusively to opinion commentary. No more reviews. That’s about the extent of it.
“I remember the old YHCOR and you weren’t very funny back then.”
Good news! I’m not that funny now, either.
Anyway, feel free to enjoy. Or don’t. Whichever.
